Some mistakes, however, can have a huge long-term impact on your life as a homeowner. Fortunately, they are also easy to avoid. By familiarizing yourself with some of the most common mistakes new homeowners make, you can take the necessary steps to ensure you don’t make them yourself.

One of the more common mistakes that new homeowners make is to hire the cheapest handyman for minor repairs; however, this could lead to much bigger problems down the road.

Demand for new homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth market is at a high, with a 50% higher rate of home starts in the 4th quarter of 2012 than the same period last year.
